Alanna One of the hardest things about relocating to CA was having to leave my mechanics that I had known and trusted for 13 years! Thank goodness for online reviews and finding Chris and Gary! I took my car in the other day for the first time. Chris and Gary were friendly and great to work with. Gary showed me what was wrong with the car and made short and longer term recommendations on maintenance for the car. I appreciate that safety and consideration for my pocket book are some of their top priorities...because I share those concerns! I intend to continue taking my cars to see them because I appreciate honesty and quality from a mechanic and Chris & Gary definitely fit the bill!
Bilson and took in my truck on a busy schedule. Great experience with Gary. My Ford F150 started stalling during idle. Couldn't even go a mile reliably. I called The Car Doctor and asked for an appointment ASAP, but was told they were booked for at least two weeks. They asked me to explain my problem, and then put Gary on the phone. Gary took time to try to fix my problem over the phone (for free), and when he couldn't he gave me a great deal and offered to at least diagnose the problem that very same day and said the fee could be spent toward servicing it whenever my appointment could come up. I brought it in the next day and told Gary exactly what happened, and it turns out I didn't really tell him all the truck's problems. It didn't seem like a quick fix anymore, but he still looked at it right away anyway. Later he gives me a call and goes over everything that he's done and plans to do. I appreciated his effort to make sure there was no grey area of what he was doing to my truck. Gary had my truck fixed the following morning. I even made the mistake of not giving him my alarm fob so my truck was stuck in his repair bay for several hours. Even still, the job ended up costing less than expected. Gary seemed very close and friendly with all the customers that he interacted with. As he walked me to my truck a car pulled up and waited there next to us as Gary and I chatted for at least 10 minutes. As I left, the guy in the car asked Gary for advice on an oil change. Gary gave it to him and the guy said "thanks" and drove off. Most likely the guy was working for Gary, because I was way too impressed by his friendliness. =)
xot fair pricing, and friendly service. They keep both of our vehicles running well.
honestrater perfection in work. Chris and Geary and very friendly and are experts at their work. I wish I knew these guys earlier.
Blaine Outstanding customer service and appointments on Saturdays! I called at 9am and got an appointment for the same day. This is a small shop tucked in what appears to be a little auto plaza with a bunch of different kinds of service providers around. They definitely need a better road sign because I had trouble finding them and I have GPS. In any case the shop is immaculate. I'm not sure how long its been there but everything looks new. Not much of a waiting area so plan to drop off and pick up after the repairs are done. They charged what they quoted which should not be a big deal but if you have ever had work done on your car you know it is. These are a friendly knowledgeable guys who aren't out to rob you by up-selling you into stuff you don't need. I got my front brakes and rotors replaced. With almost 60k on the dash they could have easily got me for the rears as well. To my surprise they told me they were fine. The price was fair. I would put it 15% below other shops in my area and about $400 less than the dealer. The fact that they double up on the NAPA warranty limits lets me know they stand behind their work and the products they sell. I hope I don't have to go back soon because that would mean something is wrong with my car but when I do need to this will be my shop.
Tracy Y. When you use them, they stand behind their work!! I had my brakes machine rotored sp? by them a few months back as they were making a high pitched sound. But then 2 months later, the high pitched sound returned. I took my car back into them and they had it for a day. When I returned to pick my car up, they apologized profusely for the inconvenience of having to come back for the same problem. In return, Gary said they just replaced the rotors with brand new ones "FREE of CHARGE"! They definitely have my business from here on out! We have been in the Bay area now for 6 months and finding the Car Doctor has been a lifesaver. It's a company that has those old fashioned values of always making sure you stand behind your work
John W. My Accord's engine light was on and I needed to pass smog soon. After plugging the car into the diagnostics computer and asking a few questions about my maintenance history, Gary explained that there wasn't necessarily a problem that warranted pulling things apart and billing me for the troubleshooting. He suspected the problem was I waited to long before my last oil change. He cleared the engine light and suggested I put a few miles on the odometer and see if the light re-appeared. It did several times but they never hesitated to re-check the codes each time I popped in on them until (as Gary predicted) the engine light disappeared on its own. I was only charged a modest fee for the diagnostic in the end. I'm sure many other mechanics wouldn't hesitate to rack up lots of labor charges and likely charge for each diagnostic session. Not these guys. They're completely honest and not eager to charge you to death or do any unnecessary work. I won't hesitate to come to them first for any future repairs.
Jane M. so I went to Car Doctor after making an appointment. I was worried that it would be something serious, so I did a lot of research, and my particular car model has been found to have issues with AC leakage. I told Chris about my research finding, and he gave me an estimate of how much time it will take them to take out the parts that need to be looked at, if what I found is true. After a couple of hours, I get a call back from Gary, and the problem was not what I thought it was, and that it was a really simple thing. I was not charged at all, I mean ZERO, even though it took them more than 1.5 hours to take the part apart. Gary sent me back home with a great smile and asked to monitor my car to see if the same problem arises over the week. Now my car is 100% fine, and I cannot thank the Car Doctor enough for their continuous excellence and jaw-dropping customer care.
