Brought to you by The Car Doctor!
As we move into winter with our daylight hours starting to decrease it's a good time to make sure that all lights for your vehicle are working.
Check: Headlights, turn signals, brake lights (even the third brake light), reverse lights, parking lights and yes license plate lights.
An added bonus is that you won't get pulled over for that pesky fix-it-ticket by the local authorities. It takes only minutes to check your lights and if you need help just call and we will check them for you at no charge.
Don't Forget Your Car's Battery!
Maybe the manufacturer says your battery is maintenance free, but don't believe it! Check your battery regularly to extend its life and avoid the hassle of being stranded with a dead battery.
Here are several very important things you need to know about your vehicles battery:
- It's important to read your owner's manual on your vehicle's battery system. Believe it or not some new cars can NOT jump start other cars and/or be jumped started. (This can cause damage to your vehicle!)
- Your battery runs every electrical system in your vehicle; it starts your starter; it powers your windows and it allows all those other luxuries to work - like your navigation system, sound system, and digital clock.
- Have you battery checked every 3 years or so - it never hurts to make sure it passes all the tests.
- If your battery does fail, remember that sometimes if you remove a battery from a vehicle you can lose the ability to use your radio. Most often you need a special radio code from the dealer to allow the system to work again. This is also true for other systems, like your navigation. At The Car Doctor we have the technology to replace the battery and not lose any of those important systems in your vehicle.
The Car Doctor will always check your battery for free.
